Beginners Course

Unlock your creative potential with our new beginners evening course in Jewellery design and manufacturing. Discover new skills and unleash the Jewellery designer/maker within! 

Course Highlights:
Concept sketching and technical drawing to bring your ideas to life. 

From basic design principles to key metalwork techniques such as: Saw Piercing, filing, soldering and polishing you will gain fresh  confidence and expertise needed to make your Jewellery ideas a reality.

Hands on experience with expert guidance from industry professionals

Use of professional tools and equipment

Classes are limited to just 6 students for personalised attention in a supportive learning environment. 

Who should apply:

Any one aged 18 and over can apply. This course is suitable for beginners and improvers.

When:

Tuesday evenings 6-8.30 pm, Commencing in March 2025 for for 8 weeks.

MasterPeace Academy was founded in 2021 when we opened our doors to our first cohort of students who took part in our successful City and Guilds and Ubuntu Gems programs. 24 mainly local young people trained with us in our first year and we hope to support many more in the future.

Kyalo Kiilu
Gemmology & Lapidary
Kyalo is a fellow of the gemmological association of Great Britain (FGA) and a diamond member of the association (DGA).He holds a BSc in Gemmology and jewellery studies from Birmingham City University.
Marcus Osborne
Wax Carving
Marcus specialises in wax carving to the jewellery trade. If you can dream it he can make it!
Norma J Banton. DipM. Cert Ed.
Core skills & Creativity
Former lecturer in Business, Jewellery designer and philanthropist Norma has been based in the Jewellery Quarter since 2004. She is creative director at The Silver Fish Jewellery Co founded by her in 2004. She is also founder at MasterPeace Academy and Treasured Foundation. She has achieved much accolade for her faith based jewellery, being featured several times on BBC TV Songs of Praise.
